'I am inspired by dynamics and shapes in our environment. My work is a mirror of complex emotions expressed with the language of colours forms and
composition. My paintings are spontaneous products of a search for balance and
harmony.' zegt Vania Pentcheva (Bulgarije, 1969) over haar werk.
Zij studeerde in 1995 af aan de University of Fine Arts “Nikolai
Pavlovich” in Sofia, de hoofdstad van Bulgarije, waarbij zij
een
Masters Degree in Arts and Scenography behaalde.
Zij exposeert haar
schilderijen sinds 1987 o.a. solo in galeries te Johannesburg en
Pretoria in Zuid Afrika, waar zij drie jaar woonde. Zij exposeerde
haar schilderijen tevens solo in Sofia, Bulgarije en in Hamburg,
Duitsland. |
In Nederland, waar ze sinds 2001 woont, exposeerde ze
solo bij Art Gallery TM 100
in Gouda. Ze debuteert als exposant bij Galerie Beeldkracht in
2007 tijdens de laatste groepsexpositie van het jubileum 'Klein
maar fijn'. Zowel in Nederland (in de AD van Het Groene Hart), als
in Zuid Afrika (Sunday Times)
en in Bulgarije (Dialog en Kultura) besteedden de media aandacht
aan Vania Pentcheva en haar werk.

Haar
inspiratie
Abstract colour compositions:
These works represent my instinctive colour theory. They explore the relationship between man-made
structures, light and the natural world. They are thoughts and
emotions. When looking at them, familiar shapes and objects such as literal characters are not to be
found, but there are reminders of them from the surround in an abstract
way.
